New Ideas for 2011

Making beaded jewelry is considered a high craft, meaning it is not classified as an art, but is a very creative, artistic craft.  My new idea for my jewelry is to make fewer pieces, but each piece will have a more artistic and unique look.  Instead of purchasing large amounts of supplies to make several pieces, I will take the time to design a unique piece.  After the piece is made and posted to the website, plans for a new piece will begin.

How It All Started

While attending an art show in the spring of 2004, I saw the most beautiful copper wire jewelry crafted by a former classmate.  Her beautiful workmanship was my inspiration for making jewelry.  A few months later, I went to a craft store and purchased a spool of craft wire, small tools, and a book about making wire jewelry. I discovered this to be more difficult than expected and soon decided that twisting wire was not for me. However, I still wanted to make jewelry. That's when I discovered beading and its endless creativity, and I've been beading ever since.
